Batch verification for sports nutrition brands

Batch verification for sports nutrition brands works the way careful customers already check a tub: by lot. Each product gets one permanent QR code. The customer scans it, types the lot code printed on the tub, pouch or box, and sees that batch's status, the certificate of analysis you attached to it, and any notice you have published — for that run, not for the product in general.

Why do athletes check the lot, not the product?

Contamination belongs to a production run, not to a recipe. One run of a pre-workout or protein powder can be clean and the next can pick up trace cross-contact from a shared blending line or a new raw-material source. Athletes subject to strict anti-doping rules check the specific production run they are about to consume because contamination is lot-specific.

A static certificate on a marketing page answers for one past run at most. BatchRoute maintains a distinct record per batch, giving customers the exact documentation for the tub in their hand — publishing a certificate of analysis for each batch explains how each lot record is created.

Does it replace a banned-substance testing programme?

No. BatchRoute tests nothing and is not a testing programme or an anti-doping authority. If your products are enrolled in an independent third-party banned-substance screening programme, keep directing athletes to that programme's own official lookup register.

What BatchRoute provides is your brand's direct lot status: whether you have released the batch, put it on hold or recalled it, the certificate you attached, and how to reach your team.

When you enter which laboratory issued the certificate and the date, BatchRoute displays that line as recorded. BatchRoute does not audit laboratory credentials, independently verify test findings, or read the certificate. Where a product is enrolled in a screening programme, that programme's own register is the place an athlete confirms the lot.

What happens when a lot has to be pulled?

Put the lot on hold while you investigate, or recall it immediately. Either step requires a customer-facing notice explaining the situation, and a recall requires confirming the action by typing the lot code. The next person who looks up that lot sees your notice in place of the normal result, and the certificate link is withdrawn at once. Unaffected lots of the same product continue answering normally.

BatchRoute reaches the customers who check their pack. It does not send push messages, emails or text messages, and it does not replace the recall obligations you have to regulators, retailers or customers — how lot-specific recalls and holds reach customers details the full transition flow.

Lot codes on tubs, pouches and sachet boxes

The lookup matches a lot code exactly, ignoring only letter case and spaces. A missing character or changed hyphen means no match, so print clarity matters. On tubs, codes are often printed on the curved or glossy base; on pouches, they typically sit near the bottom seal or top tear notch where packaging can crease.

Once packs are in distribution, the brand workspace logs the unrecognized lot codes customers typed, paired with the closest valid code when an entry is nearly correct — printing lot codes customers can read walks through best practices for package legibility.

What BatchRoute is not

BatchRoute publishes and hosts the batch information you give it. It is verification and documentation infrastructure — not a testing laboratory, a certification body, or a statement that a product meets any regulation. We don't test your product, review your laboratory results, certify anything or determine regulatory compliance. You remain responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you publish.
