Terms of service
Revision 2026-09-24
1. What BatchRoute is
BatchRoute is verification and documentation infrastructure for brands. It lets a brand publish batch, lot, certificate, and consumer-notice information through public verification pages.
BatchRoute is not a testing laboratory, certification body, regulator, auditor, medical provider, or product-safety authority. BatchRoute is also not a veterinary provider, animal feed regulatory authority, anti-doping organisation, or banned-substance testing programme.
BatchRoute does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, legality, safety, quality, authenticity, laboratory results, or regulatory status of products or information supplied by a customer.
2. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BatchRoute. "BatchRoute", "we", "us", and "our" mean BatchRoute Ltd. "You" and "Customer" mean the brand or other legal entity that creates or uses a BatchRoute account.
By creating an account, accepting these Terms, or using a BatchRoute service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice . If you use BatchRoute on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create or use a BatchRoute account.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate and current information when creating and maintaining an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activities carried out through your account, except to the extent caused by BatchRoute's failure to apply reasonable security measures.
You must not share credentials in a way that circumvents account, user, security, or access controls. You must promptly notify us if you reasonably believe that an account or credential has been compromised.
You are responsible for ensuring that people using your account are authorised to do so and comply with these Terms.
4. What the customer is responsible for
You remain responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, and regulatory appropriateness of everything you publish through BatchRoute, including:
- product and batch records;
- lot codes and identifiers;
- dates and product status;
- consumer-facing notices;
- certificates and supporting documents;
- support and contact information;
- recall, quarantine, or stop-use information; and
- claims made about a product.
These responsibilities apply across all product categories you publish, including human dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, food, cosmetics, pet food, pet supplements, animal feed, and sports nutrition products. You are responsible for ensuring that product claims, nutrient declarations, ingredient lists, and batch records comply with all laws and regulations applicable to the relevant product category.
You are also responsible for determining whether, when, where, and how your product information must be communicated to consumers, regulators, distributors, retailers, marketplaces, or other parties.
5. Product safety, certification, and regulatory compliance
A BatchRoute verification page does not mean that BatchRoute has:
- tested the product;
- verified a laboratory result;
- reviewed manufacturing records;
- certified the product;
- approved the product;
- determined that the product is safe; or
- determined that the product complies with any law or regulation.
These disclaimers apply across all product types and categories. Without limitation, BatchRoute does not inspect animal feed or pet food formulations, does not review nutritional adequacy declarations or label panels against animal feed rules, and does not evaluate products under veterinary standards.
BatchRoute also does not test, audit, or certify products for athletic anti-doping compliance, banned-substance absence, or adherence to any athletic governing body or third-party testing standard.
BatchRoute publishes information supplied or authorised by the Customer. The Customer remains solely responsible for regulatory compliance and for obtaining any approvals, registrations, certifications, testing, or professional advice required for its products.
6. Recalls, quarantine, and consumer notices
BatchRoute provides communication infrastructure for recalls, quarantines, holds, stop-use notices, and other consumer-facing product information.
Publishing a notice through BatchRoute does not discharge or replace any statutory, regulatory, contractual, retailer, distributor, reporting, notification, or recall obligation applicable to you.
You must use any legally required channels in addition to BatchRoute. BatchRoute is not your regulatory reporting agent unless a separate written agreement expressly says so.
7. Public verification pages
You are responsible for the content displayed on your public verification pages and for maintaining accurate information.
Subject to these Terms, BatchRoute is designed to keep public verification pages available independently of ordinary billing disputes so that consumers are not prevented from seeing safety or recall information merely because a commercial relationship has ended.
This does not prevent BatchRoute from restricting, modifying, or removing content or access where reasonably necessary because of unlawful content, fraud, abuse, security concerns, court or regulator requirements, infringement claims, technical emergencies, or other circumstances where continued publication would create material legal or security risk.
8. Permanent codes and verification addresses
You are responsible for codes, URLs, labels, packaging, and other physical or digital identifiers that you distribute or print.
A BatchRoute address is intended to remain associated with the corresponding product or batch record. Where the product or batch information needs correction, the appropriate BatchRoute record, notice, or replacement record must be used rather than misleadingly rewriting historical information.
BatchRoute does not promise uninterrupted or permanent availability of any particular URL or service except to the extent expressly stated in a separately executed service-level or continuity agreement.
9. Certificates and uploaded files
You must have the rights and permissions necessary to upload and publish certificates, images, documents, trademarks, logos, and other content.
Where you upload a certificate of analysis, name an issuing laboratory, or reference a third-party testing programme or standard, you represent and warrant that:
- you have the rights needed to publish the document, and your naming of the laboratory or programme is accurate and not misleading;
- the document, the issuing laboratory, and the issue date you record accurately correspond to the specific batch for which they are published; and
- you will not present or publish any third-party mark, logo, certificate, or programme reference in a manner that falsely suggests BatchRoute is affiliated with, endorsed by, accredited by, or operating in partnership with that laboratory, programme, or certifier.
You must not upload malware, malicious code, unlawful material, or content that knowingly infringes another person's rights.
BatchRoute may perform security, malware, file-type, or integrity checks on uploads and may reject, quarantine, or restrict files where reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users.
10. Acceptable use
You must not use BatchRoute to:
- break or evade security controls;
- introduce malware or malicious code;
- scrape or systematically enumerate the verification system;
- misrepresent BatchRoute as a regulator, laboratory, certifier, or testing body;
- publish knowingly false, deceptive, or fraudulent product information;
- misrepresent any batch as having been tested, approved, or enrolled in any testing programme or certification scheme when it has not;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- process personal data unlawfully;
- use BatchRoute to distribute unlawful content; or
- interfere with the availability, integrity, or security of the service.
11. Customer Data
As between you and BatchRoute, you retain the rights you have in Customer Data that you submit to the service.
"Customer Data" means data, files, records, certificates, notices, images, text, and other content that you or your users submit to or manage through BatchRoute.
You grant BatchRoute a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, process, transmit, display, secure, back up, and otherwise use Customer Data only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, improve, and support the services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
BatchRoute does not sell Customer Data.
12. Aggregated and de-identified information
BatchRoute may create aggregated or de-identified information from service usage, provided that such information is processed so that it is not reasonably used by BatchRoute to identify a particular individual or Customer.
Such information may be used for security, operations, analytics, service improvement, product development, benchmarking, and reporting.
13. Intellectual property
BatchRoute and its licensors retain all rights in the BatchRoute software, infrastructure, interfaces, trademarks, designs, documentation, workflows, and other platform materials.
Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, no ownership or licence is transferred to you.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, redistribute, or create derivative works from the BatchRoute platform except where applicable law expressly permits it or we give you written permission.
14. Third-party services
BatchRoute may rely on third-party providers for hosting, storage, security, email, payment processing, monitoring, communications, infrastructure, and other supporting functions.
Those providers may process information on BatchRoute's behalf. Where legally required, applicable processor or subprocessor arrangements will govern those activities.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy notices.
15. Privacy and data protection
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Notice .
Where BatchRoute processes personal data on your behalf as a processor, the applicable Data Processing Addendum applies.
The DPA is intended to govern processor activities and does not change your responsibilities as controller or equivalent business under applicable privacy law.
16. Security
BatchRoute maintains technical and organisational measures intended to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the service and information processed through it.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using appropriate credentials, access controls, and internal security practices on your side of the service.
Where a security incident affects Customer Data, BatchRoute will respond in accordance with applicable law and the applicable DPA.
17. Pilot, fees, taxes, and payment
During the validation pilot, BatchRoute operates on a free pilot basis at no charge in exchange for participation and feedback. Unless your written agreement states otherwise, no subscription fees or verification volume charges apply during the validation period.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, any future fees exclude applicable taxes, duties, levies, or similar governmental charges.
Any commercial pricing, renewal, payment dates, refunds, credits, or payment terms following the validation pilot will be stated in a separate order, subscription page, invoice, or written agreement before any charges take effect.
18. Suspension
We may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to:
- protect the security of BatchRoute or other customers;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- comply with law, court order, or regulatory direction;
- address material breach of these Terms;
- address overdue amounts where applicable; or
- prevent material harm to BatchRoute, customers, or consumers.
Where reasonably practicable, we will limit suspension to the parts of the service that require restriction and will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Where consumer safety or recall information must remain accessible, BatchRoute will use reasonable efforts to preserve the availability of relevant public information while the underlying issue is resolved, subject to legal, security, and technical constraints.
19. Termination
Either party may terminate the contractual relationship in accordance with the applicable order or subscription terms.
Either party may terminate for a material breach that remains uncured after reasonable written notice where the breach is capable of cure.
BatchRoute may terminate or immediately restrict access where continued use would violate applicable law, create a material security risk, or expose the service to serious abuse or fraud.
20. Data export and deletion
Following termination, you may request an export of Customer Data during the period specified in our then-current retention and export policy.
Unless a different written agreement applies, we will provide a reasonable export of available Customer Data in a commonly usable format and will then delete or anonymise Customer Data according to our retention schedule, except where retention is required by law, reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or protection of legal rights.
Historical audit records and legally required records may be retained for the applicable retention period and may not be editable.
21. Disclaimers
Except where expressly stated in a separate written agreement, BatchRoute is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We do not warrant that:
- the service will always be uninterrupted;
- every public page will always be available;
- Customer Data will always be error-free;
- the service will satisfy every regulatory requirement applicable to you; or
- information supplied by another Customer is accurate or safe.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
22. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify BatchRoute and its officers, employees, and contractors against third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- Customer Data or content you publish;
- your products or product claims;
- your breach of these Terms;
- your violation of applicable law;
- your infringement of another person's rights; or
- your misuse of BatchRoute.
This section does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by BatchRoute's own gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or other liability that cannot legally be shifted to you.
23. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BatchRoute will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunities, or business interruption arising from or related to the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BatchRoute's aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms will not exceed the fees paid by you to BatchRoute in the twelve months before the claim.
The foregoing limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including where applicable liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct, or other mandatory statutory rights or remedies.
24. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including substantial internet or infrastructure failures, cloud-provider failures, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil disorder, governmental action, epidemic, labour disruption, or other events outside reasonable control.
This does not excuse obligations that cannot legally be excused or reasonable security and incident-response obligations.
25. Changes to these Terms
These Terms carry a revision date. Where BatchRoute makes a material change, we will provide notice through a reasonable channel and specify the effective date.
Where an acceptance record is maintained, the version accepted by your organisation remains associated with that acceptance record.
Changes required for law, security, fraud prevention, or technical operation may take effect sooner where reasonably necessary.
26. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Subject to any mandatory law that gives you a different right, disputes relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
27. Notices
Legal notices to BatchRoute must be sent to: privacy@batchroute.com
Notices to you may be delivered to the account email address, through the BatchRoute dashboard, or by another reasonable electronic means.
28. General
If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect and the unenforceable provision will be modified only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable.
These Terms, together with any applicable order, DPA, and incorporated policies, form the agreement between you and BatchRoute concerning the service and replace conflicting prior understandings concerning the same subject.
You may not assign these Terms without our written consent, except as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of your business or assets. BatchRoute may assign these Terms in connection with a corporate reorganisation, merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of the relevant business.
